Kenya has some of the
finest luxury coffee in the world.

I have these memories, of my mother; memories of her kitchen in Nairobi … of the smell of strong, beautiful coffee, hints of bitter balanced with some sweetness. Aromas that flooded the whole home. I grew up in Nairobi, to that English mother and my Kenyan father, and from a young age, coffee was a beverage that fascinated me.

Coffee is a connector. It’s a way to start your day or a means to take an afternoon break from it. Around the world, we wake up to a bold cup and seek it after an exceptional meal.

Naivasha’s Moja Edition is our first, and it was developed with those wonderful, childhood, Nairobi memories at the core. It’s a classic, evocative, Kenyan coffee, and while it has long been part of my life, I’m so excited to make it part of yours. We are bringing the very best expressions of Africa’s farming heritage right to your breakfast table or office.

This is a sip worthy of your every-day moments or of celebrating your loved ones with a gift.

JAMBO SANA

Jambo sana! Allow me to introduce myself properly and tell you a little bit of my personal story that has led me to creating Naivasha Coffee.

When people ask me where I’m from, my standard response is always; “Well…I’m a Kenyan born, British raised, Australian Citizen, living in Los Angeles!” I’m a man who has known many continents and likewise, many roles in my career in the global drinks industry.

I got my first taste of the drinks business behind the bar. I was responsible for managing Lab Bar, a renowned destination for drinks and cocktails in London’s Soho district. This was in the earliest days of the classic cocktail renaissance, and by 2005, I’d been sought out by the Brazilian-based brand, Sagatiba Cachaça. I joined on as their Global Brand Ambassador that year, carving out a seven-year position that took the spirit label from small, South American production to a recognizable brand name on six continents.

I then spent six years in Australia, where I over saw the trade communications, brand activity and events of some thirty-five premium spirit brands. In late 2016, I joined a global consultancy and events company in their Australian office, before emigrating to the USA in April 2017, where I was the Director of Sales & Marketing for that same business.

I’m hoping to bring these two incredible decades of experience both behind the bar, on the world stage, in distribution and brand growth to bear in making something special of Naivasha Coffee.

Whatever I do, I do with my whole heart and soul. Pouring a lot of who I am into everything I do and when I’m not at work, you’ll usually find me planning my next scuba diving holiday or sipping a Negroni, Espresso Martini or glass of red wine in one of LA’s great bars. While the world has provided a playground for me to learn and grow in the drinks industry, these days I’m ultimately excited to be launching and bringing to the world a small piece of the country I love, to homes and offices around the world. Asante sana!
